Drive past the Red Fort before visiting Raj Ghat, the serene memorial where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. Next, enter New Delhi, with its colonial beauty – behold the imposing India Gate, take photographs of the President’s House, and drive along the majestic Parliament Street.
A visit to peaceful Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, which is a Sikh temple will be a spiritual experience. If time allows, drop by Gandhi Smriti, the moving place where Gandhi spent his final days, and look at the lotus-like Lotus Temple, the emblem of peace and harmony (both are closed on Mondays). Before leaving Agra, explore some local workshops to see exquisite inlay marble work, embroidery, and Mughal-style crafts perfect for a souvenir that carries a piece of history.
